Hulu is getting some quality time with “Timeless” star Abigail Spencer.

The streaming site has cast Spencer in the its drama pilot “Reprisal,” according to Deadline. The project is prepping to shoot in Wilmington, North Carolina, this fall.

The A&E Networks-produced potential series, from “The Handmaid’s Tale” executive producer Warren Littlefield, is a hyper-kinetic revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads.

Hulu would not confirm Spencer’s involvement with the project or its presence in Wilmington on Tuesday. But emails exchanged between city of Wilmington staff and location scouts for the project last month revealed the show is looking to secure the old Wave Transit Depot on Castle Street as a significant filming location.

The emails also indicated the project is looking to shoot for 16 days in mid-September.

Spencer’s casting comes as her latest project, NBC’s death-defying series “Timeless,” survived cancellation once again last week. The two-season show was canceled in May, but thanks to a major fan campaign, it will return later this year for a two-hour wrap-up movie.

She also starred on Sundance TV’s series “Rectify” and the movie “This Is Where I Leave You.”
